LAKE LANIER FISHING REPORT FROM
"Have Fun Fishing.com"

Bass fishing ain't easy right now and 10 pounds didn't even get first place on Monday night. Friday we had a 40 fish day. Monday we had like 15 fish and Tuesday and Thursday we caught just a few. Big fish this week was a 4.3 pound largemouth caught this morning along with 2 halfway decent spots to go with it. I believe the spots are getting off the beds and are now in that lull time between the end of the spawn and post spawn. They are now recovering from the spawn. This lull time usually lasts a week sometimes a week and a half. Once this gets over with the post spawn schooling will take over and they will start chasing again. Right now the best bet is a early top water bite on the points. I'm rotating between a buzz bait, Sammy 100 and a G Splash (Pop R type bait). After the top water bite I'm doing the run and shoot offense in full speed. My foot never leaves the get gone button on my 82 pound thrust Motor Guide trolling motor on full speed. Sooner or later you will run into fish by putting yourself in high percentage areas. I am seeing some schooling but you have to be quick and match the hatch pretty darn good. I'm using a G Splash Pop R and a Pointer 78 for the brief schoolers that I am seeing. Next week I hope things will get back to normal for our awesome post spawn bite.

Lines sides fishing is fair and will only get better. The spawn is all most over and the fish are coming back down out of the rivers to feed. And they should be grouping up soon. There are fish from the mouth of the Etowah River and as far south as Allatoona Creek. All of your major creeks have fish in them right now. If you find the baitfish, you'll find stripers and hybrids nearby. Flat-lines in the morning and afternoon and down lines mid day is the way to go. Trolling is working really well right now. The Mack Farr 3 arm umbrella rig has been producing best for me right now. Color doesn't seem to matter, but speed is a factor. The best speed for me this week has been between 3.3- 3.5 miles per hour. Remember the month of May is one of the best months for line-side fishing. We still have a few days open this month and we’re offering family trips starting at $225.00 just for mentioning BassFeed.com when you make your reservation. Come on mom and dad – let’s take the kids fishing!
